The client, a friend opening a new coffee shop in the neighborhood, collected images from old-fashioned soda shops he acquired through eBay and other sources.I built the poster for him in PhotoShop and had the file blown up 300% for output at Kinko's.

Notes: the coffee beans were actually placed directly on my scanner and then multiplied in PhotoShop. The coffee pouring into a photo of the real Fiestaware cup (and the coffee within it) were created digitally (the original photo is of an empty cup). The effect worked.
